All About BB, CC, and DD Creams

It is common to expect the coverage product you use to also have a skin-care benefits line that helps with anti-aging, zapping zits, and hydrating your skin. BB creams have filled that space for a number of big name brands and have quickly become a top-shelf essential for more make up lovers around the world.

What’s the Difference?

For those of you who don’t know, the BB in ‘BB cream’ stands for “beauty balm” or “blemish balm”. BB creams are essentially a tinted-moisturizer with a great amount of SPF and a little more coverage. CC creams are more so a hydration and SPF based counter-part to the BB cream, while having an additional ‘color correction’ component. DD creams on the other hand aren’t as in demand or mainstream. DD stands for “double duty” and tend to be used for coverage, anti-aging, sun protection, and hydration. This may sound like they’re all a little similar to each other but each one has a very unique formula, depending on the line and brand.

If you’re not sure about which one to try first, we have a few of each category ready for you to learn about below:

3. Pür Rescue Squad DD Crème
This DD cream is more of a primer that hydrates your skin than it is an alternative to foundation. It does not offer coverage but rather keeps your skin looking plump with a healthy glow all day long. It helps blur imperfections and is the ideal DD cream for those who want a muted and natural look.
